Our Frontline Fleet
Engine 1
Engine 1 is the oldest running fire truck (apparatus) in Coventry. It is a hardy, 22 years old. This truck is a Ferrera Pumper truck that dates back to 2001. This truck is being retired soon as a new replacement truck is currently on order. This truck has a small Jaws of Life set on it as well as some basic fire suppression equipment and a 750 gallon water tank.
Rescue 1
Rescue 1 is a 2018 PL Custom Rescue (Ambulance) with a Ford 550 Chassis. This is our busiest truck. This Rescue is registered as a Paramedic level unit. Along with advanced medical equipment on this truck are SCBA's for environments that are considered Immediately Dangerous Life Hazards (IDLH). This truck is also scheduled to be replaced very shortly and will move down to reserve status.
Ladder 1
Ladder 1 is a 2010 Sutphen Aerial ladder truck. This truck is equipped with a 100ft ladder. It's unique in that it was custom-designed to meet strict height requirements to fit in the Anthony Station. This truck was originally built and equipped with a basket that had only a 75ft reach. This is commonly known in the industry as a "Tower Ladder". When Coventry purchased this truck, the basket was removed and a 5th section was added to make it a 100ft ladder. This truck has ventilation equipment on it as well as a full set of extrication tools, more readily known to the public as "Jaws of Life".
